Class sizes are limited, so it’s best to reserve your space early. All classes must be paid in advance. Cancellations must be made at least three days prior to class time. If later, it will result in forfeiture of payment. A minimum of five students is required for a scheduled class. If a class is cancelled, you will be notified at least 24 hours in advance and your class fee may be applied to another class or fully refunded. We have a limited supply of tools to share. Please, if you have tools, bring them with you. Tools may be purchased the day of class. Receive a 10% discount off any jewelry supplies the DAY of class.

Class instructions will cover the basic information needed to start beading, including finishing techniques for necklaces and bracelets. This workshop includes descriptions for using beading tools and findings. Learn to use different mediums such as memory wire, stretch, leather, silk and wire to string your pieces. You will create and design a project from start to finish. We will demonstrate a basic wire wrap technique.

Kathy Finnegan is our Pearl Knotting Instructor. Come in and learn how to use silk thread to create perfect knotted jewelry. She will teach you several knotting techniques to use with pearls or any of your favorite beads. You will learn how to finish and clasp jewelry strung on thread. During the class you’ll make a simple knotted pearl bracelet to take home. Your confidence using thread will open up endless possibilities to incorporate in your jewelry designs, using traditional pearls or more contemporary, floating bead designs. Class costs: $50.00

The amazing brilliance of Dichroic glass is achieved by vaporizing metallic oxide onto glass sheets. Multiple layers of the treated glass create an amazing spectrum of colors in different patterns and textures. The cut and stacked pieces are fused in a kiln and further annealing, grinding and fire polishing result in beautiful and unique jewelry. The class is open to all jewelry making skill levels. Susie De Rafelo is an artist trained in jewelry making and has taught for several years.

Precious Metal Clay (PMC) is a non-toxic clay-like substance made up of fine silver particles mixed with binders that burn off when fired in a kiln. You will learn the basic forming , texturing and finishing techniques to produce your own original treasures made of 99.9% fine silver, a higher grade than sterling silver. Almost any type of jewelry component can be made from this material. Susie De Rafelo, a certified PMC is an artist trained in jewelry making.

For students who have worked with Dichroic glass before, learn further techniques in fine layering techniques with the latest offering in art glass using micro thin transparent patterns made from gold, silver and platinum. Instruction also includes setting fine silver into pre-fired glass for bails.

Copper Clay Workshop |

"Copperclay” is a new medium that has recently hit the jewelry makers marketplace. Produced to give metal clay artisans another material with which to work, it is significantly lower in cost and allows for a range of colors and finishes that are impossible to match with silver or gold clay. It is also an easy way to replicate the work of ancient bronze casting. Instructor Susie De Rafelo is one a small group of teachers nationally who have experimented and worked with Copperclay since it's earliest release and can offer instruction that make this new media easy and fun.

Two 4 hour classes Session I : provides instruction in working with porcelain, an ancient Asian material which allows for considerably more refined work than standard clay. Learn to make beads and pendants of various shapes both smooth and textured. Session II : occurs after the porcelain has been fired, students will learn different techniques with glazes for an unlimited array of finishes. Used properly, porcelain glaze can range from subtle matte finishes to high gloss colors that are hard to tell apart from enamel work. Nothing is better then seeing your own creations professionally photographed. Come into Beadz Boutique and have your creations photographed by our instructor. Or let him show you how to photograph your own creations. Each person must come prepared with their favorite creations, limited to five per person. Each session is a half hour long, we will provide jewelry busts, however feel free to bring yourself, friend, or loved one to model off your designs. Space is limited so sign up now for your time slot.
